2019 Subaru Ascent vs 2018 Toyota Highlander

Although Gerald Subaru of North Aurora has a large selection of new Subaru cars and SUVs, our dealership also enjoys highlighting models that are coming soon. Our Subaru dealership located at 205 Hansen Boulevard in North Aurora, IL is looking forward to highlighting the 2019 Subaru Ascent when it is released in summer 2018. With its spacious interior, powerful engine, and various features, our Subaru dealership believes that the 2019 Subaru Ascent is stronger than many competing models like the 2018 Toyota Highlander.

The 2019 Subaru Ascent

Glancing at some of the preliminary details that surround the 2019 Subaru Ascent, our dealership has confidence this midsize crossover SUV will take its place in our showroom of new Subaru models. Powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-4 engine, which is worth 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, this Subaru SUV also comes equipped with smooth-and-steady all-wheel drive and continuously variable transmission. The 2019 Subaru Ascent also promises features like the Subaru EyeSight™ advanced safety system, a rear-vision camera, a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay ™ and Android Auto ™ capability, three-zone climate control, and 19 cup and bottle holders.

2018 Toyota Highlander

Many Schaumburg and Naperville, IL SUV shoppers will note many similarities between the design and roominess of the 2019 Subaru Ascent to that of the 2018 Toyota Highlander. However, there are a few key differences between the two. For instance, the 2018 Toyota Highlander comes equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, which lacks some of the smoother feels of the Subaru Ascent model's CVT.

Although powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, the 2018 Toyota Highlander is only rated to tow up to 2,000 pounds, while the 2019 Subaru Ascent can tow up to 5,000 pounds. When it comes to amenities, the 2018 Toyota Highlander falls short in comparison to the Subaru Ascent. For instance, three-zone climate control does not come standard, and it only equips 12 cup and bottle holders. In terms of smartphone integration, the Toyota Highlander only provides Siri® Eyes Free to its drivers, and on a 6.1-inch touchscreen at that. Larger screens are offered in higher models.

With its combination of versatility and performance, it's no wonder that Gerald Subaru of North Aurora looks forward to highlighting the 2019 Subaru Ascent in our showroom. Our Subaru dealership serving DeKalb, IL invites you to check out our new vehicle inventory. Whether you're shopping for a midsize SUV or a vehicle like the 2018 Subaru Outback, our staff is ready, willing, and able to get you driving!
